March 1996-         Director of Medical Physics, Radiation Oncology, The Lacks Cancer Center at St. Mary’s Health Care. Duties include all aspects of Radiation Oncology Physics. Special emphasis on TomoTherapy physics and treatment planning.

Significant emphasis of this position is to search for, negotiate and implement state-of-theart technologies. Recent examples include TomoTherapy, Cone beam CT, respiratory gating, radiosurgery, etc. This position also includes treatment planning, physics support for simulation, treatment setups, treatment and simulator unit quality assurance, chart checks, and all NRC and state related issues. Current position also includes administrative leadership and supervision of physics and dosimetry staff in the department of Radiation Oncology.

The research area involves projects to study the radiobiology of established human melanoma cell lines with special emphasis on recovery from radiation damage and the role of  and  polymerase enzymes in radiosensitivity when combined with hyperthermia treatment. The cells are studied under conditions of high density monolayers and as three-dimensional multicell spheroids.

Health Sciences, Atomic Energy of Canada Research Company Ltd., Chalk River Nuclear Laboratories. Worked on a major project involving screening healthy individuals and cancer patients for abnormal radiosensitivity. Developed an assay for measuring the response of stimulated peripheral blood lymphocytes to ionizing radiation. Also worked with Dr. RE Mitchel on mechanisms of carcinogenesis using the In Vivo model C3H10T1/2 cell transformation assay.

۱۹۸۶-۱۹۸۷          Research Biologist (While pursuing PhD studies), Department of Cancer and Viral Diseases Research, The Upjohn Company, Kalamazoo, Michigan, U.S.A. Carried out research related to my Ph.D. studies in the laboratories of Drs. BK Bhuyan and LH Li on the uptake and toxicity of anthracyclines in multicell spheroids. Established the first industrial spheroid laboratory to be used as part of the drug development and testing program at Upjohn.

۱۹۸۲-۱۹۸۳          Research Assistant (while pursuing M.Sc. studies), Concordia University, Department of Biology, Montreal, Canada. Worked with Dr. RM Roy on the modification of radiosensitivity of CD-1 mice by a-tocopherol treatment. The project included studies of animal survival, micronuclei induction, as well as survival of irradiated, endogenous and transplanted, bone marrow cells in immunodefficient recipients.
